Found You (Nero)

Dante slowly slipped from his hospital room and moved down the hallway, he had been injured while helping another mutant and she had been kind enough to bring him to a clinic that had been opened for mutants. He had heard of another injured mutant being brought in, one that brought to mind his best friend Nero when he had been described to him. Dante knew his friend should still be in the future though and wasn't in anyway a mutant, but he wondered if maybe it was a great grand parent or something like that. He stopped in front of the door to the new mutants room and slowly opened it, gasping when he saw it was without a doubt Nero. "N-Nero?"

What was going on? He couldn't remember exactly what had happened, but he was aware of the beeping of machines, hinting where he was. He couldn't think of any other place with such sounds besides a hospital. He knew something had happened that led to him being hurt; he'd been lost and confused and ended up running into the wrong kind of people.

He thought he head someone call his name and it slowly pulled him back into consciousness, then he realised someone really had called it.

Jumping awake, Nero panicked, suddenly remembering he wasn't at home and tried to push the blankets off himself, struggling with one arm trapped against his body, held there by a sling.

"Stay- stay away from me!" He responded, not even looking to see who was there.

Dante frowned worriedly at all the machines that had been near his best friends bed. "Nero.... It's me... Its Dante... R-Remember?" He said as he stepped into the room so he could see it was him and not someone that would hurt him. "What happened? How did you end up here?"

"Dante..." Nero mumbled the words, taking a moment to remember he'd originally been looking for him. "Wait, Dante? You- You're here?" He asked before carefully lying back against his pillows, pulling a face.

"Yeah I'm here Nero, but what are you doing here Nero? How did you end up in the past?" Dante asked softly as he tried to help Nero settle back in the bed.

"I- " Nero went to explain, but pulled a face instead, hurting as he moved. With Dante's help though, it wasn't so bad. "Um...thanks." He mumbled, not happy that he'd needed help just to lie back down. Having one arm in a sling though didn't really make it easy.

"I didn't know you were here... I've missed you man... Really really missed you..." Dante murmured softly, not able to look at his best friend.

"I...haven't been here long." Nero mumbled. "Maybe a week. Or-or two. I dunno now." He sighed and watched Dante for a bit before speaking quietly, almost whispering. "I wanted to find you..."

"I didn't realize just how long I'd be in the past... I sort of just jumped into this with dad..." Dante said softly. "I wish I had time to tell you, man I missed you." He looked up, he was so happy to be with his best friend again. "I found them Nero..."

"It's...it's alright Dante." Nero replied, shrugging one shoulder. He had been annoyed at first when Dante had left, but now he was just glad to see him. He glanced down at his arm and pulled a face before quickly looking back up at his friend. "You did? So where are they? ...what are they like?" He asked, eager to take the focus off himself and his injuries.

Dante sat down by his friends hospital bed, "They're X-Men Nero, Archangel and Psylocke!" He felt excited to finally know about his parents and he got to meet them.

"Angel?! You...you're kidding right?" Nero asked in disbelief, raising his eyebrows. "You mean the actual Archangel? ...are you sure? Who told you that?" He didn't mean to ask so many questions, but Angel had become one of his favourite X-Men they'd heard stories about over the years.

"I'm not kidding and my dad told me, they had managed to find out before we left. The professor confirmed it for me." Dante said excitedly, he had always wanted to know about his real parents and he was happy he could finally tell his friend.

"Wow..." Nero wasn't sure what else to say to his friend, surprised by the news. "So...your dad's one of the famous X-Men...and your mother too. ...lucky"

"Yeah... But they're all dead in our time... I hoped maybe I'd find out they were alive... But they aren't..." Dante said sadly.

"They...they're gone here too?" Nero asked with a frown. "Dante, I- I'm so sorry..."

"They're alive and part of the xmen, but... B-But dad says I can't met them... H-He says its too dangerous to met them..."

"Oh." Nero frowned. "Well that still sucks."

Dante sighed and nodded. "I wanna meet them so bad... To know them just a little."

"Would he know if you ever spoke to them at all?" Nero asked. "...it's not like he's telepathic; is he?"

"Dad? No not in dad's powers... I read that my mother was though... What if she saw what I was?"
